Hi I'm Laura,

 

I'm an aspiring production artist and creative who recently graduated from Edinburgh Napier University's Interior and Spatial Design course.

Ever since I can remember, I was always drawn to performing arts and the world of films thanks to the encouragement of cultural exploration by my parents and was fascinated by the work that goes into them. Throughout my university education I was introduced to scenography as a module, which prompted me to dwell more into production arts and making via an internship in scenic construction at the Royal Conservatiore of Scotland alongside with Re-Set Scenery and Cue Props, latter which I still have the honour to work with and whom also inspired me to research and incorporate sustainability in my work.

My goal as a freelancer with l.a.b.designs is to create art and designs with experimentation on and exploration of our experiences through the application of our skills. Like working in a lab, my aim is to bring about something new and meaningful by pushing the boundaries, trying and failing, mixing mediums and ideas, learning from and with others.
